What this site collects

Very little, and this page says exactly what.
Last updated September 2026.

The short version

This site runs no analytics, sets no tracking cookies and embeds no third-party advertising or social scripts. There is no cookie banner because there are no non-essential cookies to consent to.

The only information we receive is what you type into the contact form and send to us deliberately.

What we store in your browser

One value, under the key bms-theme, recording whether you chose the light or dark appearance. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is removed if you set the theme back to follow your operating system.

The contact form

If you submit an inquiry we receive the fields you filled in: your name, work email, organization, an optional phone number, your reason for writing, and your message. A services request also asks which service it concerns and, optionally, a budget range and a timeline. We use them to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation.

We send a short acknowledgement to the address you give, so you have written confirmation that the message arrived. It carries a reference and a copy of what you wrote, and nothing else.

We do not sell this information, share it for advertising, or add you to a marketing list. Mail is sent and received through Google Workspace, acting on our instructions.

The form includes two automated-submission checks: a hidden field a person never sees, and a measure of how long the form was open before submission. Neither identifies you and neither is retained.

We also cap how many messages one address or network can send in a short window, which means the submitting IP address is held briefly in memory. It is not written to a database, not linked to your message, and is gone when the server recycles.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, its infrastructure processes standard request information, including IP address and user agent, in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. That processing is Vercel’s, under their terms, and we do not build profiles from it.

Retention

Inquiry correspondence is kept while a conversation is active and for as long afterwards as we have a business reason to keep it. If you want your message and our record of it deleted, ask and we will do it.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete it. Write to services@blacksmithai.net and a person will answer.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described rather than quietly folded in.
